Father: Pierre Gladu (HB); mother: Nancy Dease (HB). She lived at St. Vital, where she was born on about 29th September 1870, with her parents. She only lived about 15 minutes after her birth and was baptised by my father Pierre Gladu according to the customs of the Catholic church and was buried under a maple tree in the garden of my father. I was present the whole time when the child was born, at the sickness of my mother, and I saw everything that happened at the birth & death of said child, which was about seven months old when she was born. I am sure that she was born alive as she moved and breathed for about 15 minutes. I was there alone with my mother at that time, the other women happening to be absent at the time of birth & death of said child. I saw the child put in a small coffin & buried in the garden of my father by my late husband Andre Carriere and by my brother William Gladu. I am a daughter of Pierre Gladu & Nancy Dease and I am now of the full age of 38 years.
